In the fatherline, Geronimo goes back to most prominent sires of the Hanoverian breed such as Graphit by Grande, 2x Gotthard as well as the thoroughbred Der Löwe xx and the Trakehner Ozean.

In the motherline there is to name first of all the French "Selle Francais" sire Cor de la Bryère, probably the most outstanding sire of the Holsteiner breed. Goodwill's father is the Irish thoroughbred Good Match xx und his mother goes back to Der Löwe xx, so there is much blood in the pedigree. The great-grandmother Eira by Einhard produced Werra (by Werther), winning Grand Prix show jumping under Nick Skelton, England. Eira's mother, St.Pr.St. Silberkunst, is the full sister to the Celler sire "Servus".

Geronimo was sold as a foal to Belgium and was raised there. In January 2001 he was licensed in Belglium and in March he was approved there under saddle.

After a short breeding season in Belgium he was sold as a jumper to the USA.
